My name is Isa Catarina Mendes and I am originally from Portugal. I grew up in an enthralling city from the north of Portugal called Braga, one of the most ancient cities from Portugal with great importance in Europe during the Roman Empire.

My interest in Dental Medicine developed since I was a young child and with my mind focused I moved to Oporto to study Dentistry and graduated in 2011 at University of Oporto. I am passionate about the craniofacial growth and development of Dental Medicine in the quality of life it provides, This inspired me to take my learning further within Orthodontics and Paediatric Dentistry. I have completed a Post- Graduation followed by an MSci in Clinical Orthodontics at the University of Oporto in 2014 and Post-Graduation in Genetics in 2015.

I was very lucky to work in a hospital environment and also in different practices in Portugal, being part of excellent teams and meeting experienced professionals, and providing all aspects of Dentistry and Orthodontics. I truly enjoyed being part of a good team and with commitment and enthusiasm, I have also gained experience and new skills, attended specialized courses with clinical training, such as in clear aligners (Invisalign, Alignea Dent and Clear Correct), short-term Orthodontics (Six Month Smile and Preventive Removable Orthodontics Devices), Advanced Comprehensive Orthodontics, Damon System, Lingual Braces and also further knowledge in OrthoApnea to help patients with Sleep Apnea and Snoring.

I am always looking to learn alternative techniques and provide a confident smile with a truly minimally invasive Dentistry for each patient.

When I am not working I enjoy reading and I absolutely love spending time with my little dog, taking him for walks, camping, and enjoying wildlife. I also love listening to music. It’s like a part of me and is always present in everything that I do. I started guitar lessons and I am truly enjoying it. I also have a great passion for cooking and gardening.
