At Sleep Lane Smiles we believe prevention is much better and cheaper than cure. Two trips to the dentist a year can prevent you from any nasty oral health problems. CANCELLATION OR MISSED APPOINTMENT BY A PATIENT
We understand that cancellations are sometimes unavoidable due to illness or emergencies and we will take account of all valid circumstances. All patients are required to give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel any appointments. Late cancellations and missed appointments represent a cost to the practice when other patients could have been seen in the time set aside for the patient.
A fee for missed or cancelled appointments with less than 24 hours’ notice will be incurred by the patient. Please note that Sundays and Bank Holidays will not be included in these timeframes, so notice to cancel an appointment scheduled for a Monday or the day after a Bank Holiday must be given no later than the preceding working day (no later than 11am on Saturday).
The fee is based on the treatment and the length of the appointment. Please note that, as a courtesy, text message reminders are sent two days before appointments are due. The successful delivery of these relies on your mobile network provider and your phone and cannot be guaranteed. Therefore, you should not rely on our text messages as the sole reminder of your appointment as we will not be responsible for any appointments missed as a result of non-delivery of the text message reminder, regardless of the reasons for its failure.
This policy applies to all patients of the practice regardless of whether you are a fee paying or a plan patient.
Any appeals about missed or cancelled appointment decisions by a patient should be made in writing to the practice.
